Some arrested students from Chancellor College, a constituent college of University of Malawi have confessed that they were sent by some politicians to block the visiting wife to US Vice President Jill Tracy Biden.

According to our sources, students from Chancellor College yesterday blocked the motorcade of wife to US Vice President Joe Biden at one of the trading center in Zomba.

The ilate students who were in these illegal demonstration forced the visiting second lady to cancel her trip to Mangochi for security reasons.The second lady was taken to Eastern Region Police headquarters where she waited for the situation to calm in Zomba before she returned to Blantyre.

We have been informed that Police in Eastern Region  did their investigations and managed to arrest several students who are said to have confessed that they were sent by politicians to cause trouble which would lead into a  diplomatic embarrassment and put Malawi leadership at an angle for failing to protect   Jill Biden who was vindicated  in the view of US Ambassador to Malawi Virginia Palmer who was also on the motorcade.

It is a first time in the history of Malawi for the visiting high profile individual to go through what happened Jill Biden experienced.

While investigations are still underway, It is yet known why those opposition politicians sent the students in the street to block Biden who had nothing to do with the issue of hiking fees in UNIMA colleges.
